Just bought Corrinne May’s new album “Crooked Lines” and on the inside cover, there’s a picture of her daughter’s drawing of a butterfly. It’s pretty awesome cause it made me think about Steven Curtis Chapman, one of my favourite artist. On his custom Taylor guitar, there’s a inlay of a butterfly that his daughter drew. Looking at the similarity, it’s pretty awesome, both Christian artist, with a love for their children, expressing it similarly on different mediums. Made my day thinking about this. :D

EIGHT TYPES OF RELATIONSHIPS THAT WON’T WORK

Relationship expert and best-selling author, Barbara de Angelis, writes about eight types of relationships that will not work:

1. You care more about your partner than he does about you.

You are in love, but you are not sure how he feels. You…

A couple of days ago, my friend and I were talking about making decisions in life and the topic left to the decision of asking someone out for coffee just to know her/him better. A really good except from our conversation went like this:

“the reason why guys in general want a sign from God is to have some semblance of assurance that a relationship with this girl is possible and not going to turn out like a disaster, or badly…. and maybe our past experiences make us fearful of just diving into pursuing another relationship…. fearful of disappointment or rejection… With a ‘sign’ from God, we take it to mean disappointment or rejection will be less likely… but maybe the reason why God seldom speaks in such ways is because by actively pursuing a life partner we discover more about ourselves, and if done correctly, is also able to realign our hearts with God’s heart. So maybe the question you should ask yourself is not whether you should ask her out but 1. am i called to lead a married life, and then 2. is now the time for me to be pursing someone.”

Hope it sets you thinking.

Missing the 3 tubes of blackcurrent fruit tips tho.

Currently, I’ve finished 1 x vitamin water, 3/4 x tube of fruit tips, and 1 x ginger beer!

Whoots! 38 more hours until the paper is due!

Today in class, I spilled some water on myself while drinking from my metal Starbucks tumbler. This prompted me to hypothesize why the tumbler leak. Isn’t Starbucks suppose be the top of the class in awesome things?!
Anyway, Starbucks tumbler is made up of metal while Starbucks tumbler cover is made up of plastic. When person puts hot water into tumbler, tumbler expands more than cover does. As a result, there’s a weak seal in the cover cause cover < than tumbler. As a result, water leaks, pants become wet, person sad.
Okay, bad english and all, apologies, writing this in class distracts me and makes me write alalalombabbayah!

In SMU, going down from the library to Pick and Bite to get coffee includes:

1. Bumping into a Prof and spending 10 minutes talking about ministry.
2. Bumping into an exchange student from the same class who’s equally stressed over Econs HW and spending 5 minutes tearing our hair out together.
3. Dumping into some friends doing project at the Pick and Bite benches and spending 10 minutes celebrating over them managing to get free Corrine May tickets.
4. Actually getting coffee.

At SMU, getting coffee is never just getting coffee.

I’m reading “Strength Finder 2.0” by Tom Rath right now and it’s pretty amazing because it flows rather naturally with some of the ideas from “The 4-hour workweek” Back in “The 4-hour workweek”, there was a chapter dedicated to talking about maximising your output and it talked about the Pareto principle also known as the 80-20 principle which basically states that 80 percent of the effect comes from 20 percent of causes.

How this applies to “Strength Finder 2.0” is that the book believes that instead of trying to overcome our weaknesses, why not focus on our strengths and in doing so, maximise our output.

“You cannot be anything you want, but you can be a lot more of who you already are.”

I’ve only started reading this book, but I’m pretty excited because it’s got so much potential to change the way I do things.

Stay tune for more updates! :)
